Peter McKay “Fuzzy” IRB
Peter “Fuzz” McKay has been an active patrol member of the Club for 35 years. He was the Club’s power boat officer from 2009 to 2021 and the power boat vice-captain from 2021 to 2024.
Peter was elected as a Broulee Life Member in 2013. He has won FSC Branch awards for Surf Sports Champion and Branch Competitor of the Year in 2015 and 2017.
Peter has successfully managed and developed the Club’s IRB fleet to number four boats and six motors over the years. They have been maintained in an excellent condition and rescue ready.
The “Fuzzy” IRB was named at the NSW IRB Carnival on Broulee beach in 2023. Peter got to pour the sparkling wine over the front of the boat as his friends and family celebrated the naming of the Fuzzy IRB.
The Club asked Peter to unpack the newly arrived IRB from its crate as he has completed this task many times before. At one stage of the unpack, Peter stood stunned as he peered at the front of the IRB which displayed the “Peter Fuzzy McKay Duck”.
A well-deserved honour for a tireless contributor to the Club.
