Gordon Harris "GH" Surfboat
The “GH” surfboat was named after Life Member Gordon Harris. It was built and named in 2010 by South Coast Surfboats in Queensland.
Gordon was elected as a Life member of our Club in 2004. He held a range of committee roles from 1996 to 2020. Gordon was a tireless worker for the Club in this period. He would operate the club bar; he maintained the Club history and cooked many a BBQ for the Club functions.
Gordon held the following committee positions.
- Registrar 1996 to 2001
- Club Secretary 2000 to 2011
- Radio Officer 2012 to 2017
- Branch Delegate from 2002 to 2020
- Committee member in 2019/2020
Gordon was awarded the Club Person of the Year in 2002 and 2004. He was awarded the FSC Branch Administrator award in 2009.
The “GH” surfboat was very successful in Surf Sports events. It was mostly swept by Rob Pollock at the coast.

- 1st Rooster River Run Open Women 2012
- 1st NSW BEST OF THE BEST under 19 2012
- 1st NSW BEST OF BEST RESERVES 2012
- 1st NSW BEST of BEST Under 23 W 2012
- 1st NSW BEST OF BEST Under 19 2013
- 2nd World Titles Under 19 2013
The Boat was sold in 2020 to a South African Surf Life Saving Club and transported in a shipping container.
