Surf sports

There are a wide range of opportunities available for members interested in participating in Surf Life Saving Surf Sports.

Nippers and seniors can compete over the summer season in Far South Coast Branch carnivals, NSW Country, NSW State and Australian Championships.

Nippers are also taught the fundamental skills of both beach and water activities to prepare them for carnivals should they wish to compete.

The Club competes annually for the Jack Beale Memorial Trophy, awarded for the highest point score at the Far South Coast Branch Championships.

The Far South Coast Branch also recognises achievement and age champions across the various events held at carnivals, providing opportunities for selection in the Far South Coast Branch team for Interbranch competitions.

Competition Requirements

Surf Life Saving (SLS) is the platform from which surf sports is based. All competitors are expected to fulfil their SLS obligations as a prerequisite to competition.

Nippers are required to complete an evaluation prior to participating in any junior water activity or competition, and are taught the fundamental skills of both beach and water activities to prepare them for carnivals.

Senior members competition requirements

Members who hold the Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion can compete in surf carnivals.
