Wendy Law

Wendy Law was elected Life Member of Broulee Surfers SLSC in 2018.

Surf Lifesaving service

Wendy attained her Bronze Medallion in March 2006 and has since completed over 270 hours of patrols. She has also gained qualifications as Age Manager, Surf Official Level 1, Junior Activities Age Manager, MPIO and JAC — and has encouraged and assisted many other members to obtain these awards.

Nippers

Wendy served as Nippers Coordinator alongside Dave Law for many years before handing over the reins when her children finished the program. She has remained actively involved, helping out whenever needed.

Wendy was also instrumental in the establishment and early running of Canberra/Broulee Nippers, which has grown into a thriving program of over 140 participants. She continues to serve on their subcommittee.

Club administration

Wendy took on the role of Club Secretary in 2011 and during her time in that role worked prodigious hours to keep the Club running smoothly. In 2012 she coordinated much of the work involved in the Tooheys News Club Renovations when the deck had been condemned, and again in 2016 with the rebuilding of the Club gear shed.

Her Club roles have included Secretary, Radio Officer, MPIO, Club Officials and Coaches Manager, Complaints Officer, Member Services, Officials Coordinator, Online Store Administrator and Training Administrator for Surfguard and Youth. This remarkable list of responsibilities is handled with competence and dedication.

Branch roles

Wendy has served as Far South Coast Branch Surf Sports Director and Branch Assistant Surf Sports Director. In this role she was instrumental in driving the renewal of Far South Coast participation in the NSW Interbranch competition — preparing teams, accommodation, travel, gear, meals, officials and uniforms, and travelling with them to competitions.

Wendy has also served as Branch Director of Finance and Online Store Administrator, and is Treasurer of the George Bass Marathon Committee.
